How to check SAT exam score

How to check SAT exam score

The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), which was previously known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test, was created to assess the written, verbal, and mathematical skills of the candidates applying abroad for higher education. A student’s SAT exam score report is available for online viewing about two to three weeks after the test date.

Students no longer receive a paper SAT exam score report unless they request for one when registering for the test, or they made an offline registration during their SAT application. This could also be applicable if the candidate applied for SAT by mail and does not have an online College Board account.

SAT exam scores

Total score

The total score is the overall score. It is the sum of the 2 section scores, and this may range between 400 and 1600.

Sectional score

This score, which ranges from 200 to 800, is determined by the candidate’s performance in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math portions.

Subscore

It is the total number of points awarded for each type of question.

The points range from 1 to 15 for the Reading, Writing, and Language, as well as the Math sections. The main goal is to provide useful information about the pupils’ performance.

Essay scores

Aspirants taking the SAT Essay will receive 2-8 points for Essay Reading, 2-8 points for Essay Analysis, and 2-8 points for Essay Writing on the exam. These will be displayed under the Essay Details tab. (It’s only for those candidates who opted for these.)

Percentile of students

The students’ percentile score will reflect their achievement on the SAT exam in contrast to their peers. After the test, students receive their online SAT exam score reports two to three weeks later (longer for mailed, paper scores).

The optional essay’s total score (the sum of the two section scores, each graded on a scale of 200–800) is included in the report, along with three subscores (in reading, writing, and analysis, each marked on a scale of 2–8). Other score verification services, such as the Question and Answer Service, which includes the test questions, the student’s responses, the correct answers, and the type and difficulty of each question, are available for an additional fee (for select test administrations).
